Gerald R. Ford

The Gerald R. Ford Museum celebrates the life and work of Grand Rapids' favorite son and our nation's 38^th President.

Some Facts

• The Ford Museum opened in September of 1981 and is part of the Presidential Libraries System of the National Archives. It presents both permanent and temporary exhibits.
• Unlike other Presidential libraries the Ford Museum is in Grand Rapids and the Ford Library is located on the North Campus of the University of Michigan, Ford’s Alma Mater. They are, however, a single institution sharing one director and part of the Presidential Libraries System of the National Archives.
• President Ford himself is buried on the grounds, just north of the museum building.
